DESPERADO is a new development that naturally offers very little spin reversal. However, thanks to an entirely innovative rubber mixture, the rubber still produces a significant disruptive effect, altering the playing characteristics in a crucial way.
Both without sponge (OX) and with sponge (0.6mm and 1.0mm), DESPERADO allows for topspin balls to be blocked near the table, or played passively or aggressively with a closed racket angle, driving the ball downwards.
On service returns, you can lay the ball short, even against fast, "empty" serves. The ball remains very flat and can even move back towards the net. In the sponge versions, especially the 0.6mm variant, the speed factor also causes unpleasant returns.
On heavy-spin serves, DESPERADO allows for powerful returns with floating balls. Moreover, the ball dips when countering.
Additionally, it complements the game with venomous pressure loops, lifting shots, and side attacks. From a defensive perspective, you can create both flat defensive shots and deceptive spin balls to unsettle your opponent.
